Each region of Georgia has its own way of preparing food, and eating and drinking play an important role in Georgian culture. Family, friends, relatives, and hospitality are at the heart of Georgian culture. The Supra, which could be described as a Georgian celebratory dinner, is often served to family and friends but also to guests, even spontaneously.

Georgia is also a significant wine-producing region, and Georgian wines complement Georgian meals perfectly. Khachapuri is a cheese-filled bread with sulguni cheese, egg, and other fillings. Khachapuri has been made in Georgia since ancient times, and it is prepared differently in various regions. Khinkali are stuffed dumplings filled with meat or vegetables. One of the most commonly used spices in Georgian cuisine is coriander. The food is usually not very spicy.
