Nika

Rioni's other founder, Nika, is from Kutaisi, the second-largest city in Georgia, through which the river Rioni – the inspiration for the restaurant's name – flows. Kutaisi is part of the Imereti region, which is known for giving its name to one of Georgian cuisine's most famous dishes, the "Imeruli Khachapuri" – a cheese-filled bread.

Sini

Rioni's other founder, Sini, fell in love with Georgia a few years ago when she visited Kutaisi during the country's most important celebration, New Year's. Every house always had a "supra" (celebratory dinner) on offer, and no one could leave without food, wine, or a toast.
